Cahira Nitinol 'Triple Core' Titanium Alloy Wire is a new 3 strand variant of my standard Single Strand Wire.
Sold in 2m coils or as a starter pack with 5x #6 Securelocks, 5x #1/0 Crane Swivels, 25x 1.2mm double barrel crimps and a 50cm length of 2.5mm black heatshrink.
It has the same beneficial properties as the single strand- Amazing kink resistance, superelasticity, is dead straight, low vis black oxide finish, tangle resistance, remarkable knottability and will not corrode.
Additional benefits are a subtle increase in flexibility over the single strand and far improved crimping performance.
In terms of increased crimping performance, I have tested this crimped conventionally, with just 2 passes through the crimp and it holds without slipping!
I will still highly recommend using a triple pass technique as before but it is no longer mandatory with this wire!
100lb/45kg 3x 0.37mm- I think I've found the ultimate lure trace!
Rigid enough to use with Jerkbaits but supple enough not to restrain the movement of large swimbaits and softies.
Chunky and industrial yet easy to form with all the properties you want from nitinol.
Amazingly, it can be made into traces on the go if required with a few simple knots!
Also makes excellent uptraces for bait rigs.
Not tested as bait traces with mid trace hook hangers, so cannot recommend for this purpose unless only one hook is used.
I prefer to use triple passed 1.2mm double crimps myself but can also be knotted neatly and securely with a 2 turn bloodknot, tightened from the tag end to avoid pigtailing.

Awesome stuff, maneuvers better than single strand, and is almost impossible to break by sharp bending unlike single strand. The ultimate leader wire 6/5

I can not believe how subtle and thin this wire is considering it is 90lb, yet enough stiffness for use with pull baits like squirrly burts and with jerkbaits and gliders, and once again has the hard to kink properties that will make these long lasting.
